Courtesy of Dr Michelle Williams and Prof David Newby, this image shows a three dimensional reconstruction of a computed tomography (CT) coronary angiogram performed as part of the SCOT-HEART trial. This CT identified severe coronary artery disease in the right coronary artery and enabled appropriate treatment to be organised for the patient.
Findings from the SCOT-HEART trial were recently published in The Lancet:
SCOT-HEART investigators. CT coronary angiography in patients with suspected angina due to coronary heart disease (SCOT-HEART): an open-label, parallel-group, multicentre trial. Lancet 2015; 385(9985): 2383–2391.
