Many congratulations to Edinburgh Imaging’s CT team and the Scot-Heart study team, winners of Imaging Team of the Year at The BMJ Awards 2017! The award was made in connection to the SCOT-HEART trial, a pivotal study across a number of Scottish hospitals which led to the clinical application of cardiac CT in chest pain and an update of the relevant NICE guidelines.
An outstanding team from the University of Edinburgh and NHS Lothian coordinated relevant staff training, the performance of the thousands of CT coronary angiograms, the conduct of the study, the analysis of the data and all that supported this important study, the results of which were published in The Lancet.
The BMJ Awards are the UK’s leading medical awards. They recognise and celebrate the inspirational work of healthcare teams across the country. This year’s winners were announced at a ceremony on 4th May 2017 in London. Well done to Edinburgh Imaging for this well-deserved recognition!
