An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced research coordinator to join an expanding team at the Centre for Dementia Prevention at the University of Edinburgh. The post holder will lead on the establishment of the AMYPAD Prognostic and Natural History Study (PNHS) across Europe. AMYPAD (Amyloid Imaging for the Prevention of Alzheimer’s Dementia) is a major project funded by the Innovative Medicines Initiative and a sister project to the EPAD (European Prevention of Alzheimer’s Dementia) Project which initiated in 2015 and managed and sponsored by the University of Edinburgh.

The AMYPAD PNHS will see up to 3,000 people already engaged in EPAD Longitudinal Cohort Study (LCS) undertake PET-Amyloid Imaging which will help develop disease models for preclinical and prodromal dementia as well as help select participants into the EPAD Proof of Concept Trial.

The postholder will support the AMYPAD PNHS Principal Investigator (Prof Craig Ritchie) in finalising and implementing the research protocol in close collaboration with the project sponsor. They will work closely with sites undertaking EPAD as well as the commercial partners to AMYPAD (GE, Pirimal and Janssen). Once the protocol has been established and is operational the postholder will then help support the local day to day delivery of this project with the EPAD LCS as well as the second AMYPAD Project looking at diagnostic utility of PET Amyloid in several leading memory clinics across Europe. Both the EPAD LCS and AMYPAD Diagnostic Study have coordinators already in place in Edinburgh who will work closely as a small EPAD/AMYPAD team in the Centre for Dementia Prevention at the University of Edinburgh.

The post is until October 2020, which reflects the duration of the AMYPAD grant funding this post.
