Applications are invited for a Research Associate to make a strong contribution to the EPSRC funded programme, ‘Sonopill: minimally invasive gastrointestinal diagnosis and therapy’ (sonopill.dundee.ac.uk), and to be responsible for delivery of highly innovative research in the development of a microultrasonic endoscopic capsule for diagnosis and treatment of disease in the human gastrointestinal tract. The successful candidate will join Prof Sandy Cochran and his team at the University of Glasgow, and work in very close collaboration with a wider programme team at the University of Dundee and Heriot-Watt University.

Specifically, the job requires expert knowledge of signal and image processing techniques to maximise the information that can be obtained from data generated by ultrasound capsule endoscopy. For the devices presently in development, this relates particularly to conditions of the human gastrointestinal tract.
