The recent 2018 SINAPSE Annual Scientific Meeting marked 10 Years of SINAPSE, and this anniversary has encouraged reflection on accomplishments and advances in our network over the past decade.
Strengthening connections within Scotland was one of the original objectives of SINAPSE, achieved with great success from the very start through initiatives including PhD studentships which required cross-site collaboration. To ensure that connections within the Scottish imaging research community continue to flourish, we are very pleased to announce a new funding scheme to support within-SINAPSE exchanges.
Early career researchers (PhD students, postgraduates, technicians, or junior academic staff) may apply for up to £1,000 to visit another SINAPSE-affiliated site in order to obtain imaging-related training and skills development not available locally.
A flexible approach will be taken for this initial tranche of funding, and prospective candidates are encouraged to email kristin.flegal@glasgow.ac.uk for an informal discussion of requirements prior to submitting an application. Applications initially will be accepted on a rolling basis until 21 September 2018. The application form can be downloaded here.
