Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of postdoctoral research fellow in Psychiatry. The post is full time and is available for 2 years. The post is based within the Patrick Wild Centre (PWC), a philanthropically funded centre investigating autism and intellectual disabilities, and the Simons Institute for the Developing Brain (SIDB).
The post would be suitable for a candidate with a PhD in psychology, psychiatry, or a related discipline. The primary role of the postholder will be to deliver a research study which includes the use of eye tracking and EEG measures to characterise children and adults with two particular monogenic forms of intellectual disability: SYNGAP1 associated intellectual disability and fragile X syndrome. Overall management of the study will be provided by the Principal Investigator, Dr Andrew Stanfield, and funding is available for a research assistant to assist with data collection. One of the principle roles of the postholder will be to lead the EEG component of the study and prior experience and skills in this area are essential.
