Among other initiatives toward improving inclusion and diversity in STEM research environments, SINAPSE is launching a new ‘celebrating diversity in imaging research’ monthly feature in our newsletter and social media channels. Our goal is for all individuals to see their identities represented and welcomed in the SINAPSE membership.
Each month we aim to profile a SINAPSE member as an example individual who presently may be less likely to come to mind as a “typical” imaging researcher because of characteristics including:
- disability
- race/ethnicity
- gender
- sexuality
- gender identity
- socio-economic background
- country of origin
We are keen to begin platforming diverse imaging researchers across Scotland, so please consider either volunteering yourself or encouraging colleagues to volunteer to be profiled – just send a quick e-mail to kristin.flegal@glasgow.ac.uk for more information.
