As part of a significant new investment into the Centre for Biomedical Engineering & Medical Technology we are seeking to appoint five outstanding academics to complement and expand our existing research strengths and whose research will fit into our research vision in the Centre for Biomedical Engineering & Medical Technology. Staff appointed as a Grade 7 or 8 Lecturer join as probationary lecturers, moving to a permanent role after successfully completing a three-year probation period.

Your priorities will include:

  • Contribute to the research activities in the Centre at the highest level (REF 3*–4* quality)
  • Publish in high-quality research journals and present work at major international conferences
  • Develop appropriate opportunities to participate in interdisciplinary research and knowledge exchange with other academic or industrial partners
  • Carry out teaching and supervision at undergraduate or postgraduate level, including contributing to curriculum design, enhancement of the student learning experience, and scholarship

Who we’re looking for:

  • PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Physics or a closely related subject
  • Ability to produce research outputs of internationally excellent quality
  • Ability to generate external funding for research projects
  • Ambitious research plans that will be competitive for RCUK, EU or equivalent funding streams and/or for industrial funding mechanisms
