Travel advice for the QEUH campus can be found here. Please note that only limited car parking is available and alternative transport options are encouraged.
Numerous and frequent bus services run to QEUH from all areas of Glasgow, with most dropping off at the Arrival Square at the main hospital entrance (shown above). Upon alighting from a bus at the Arrival Square, walk to the left and then follow the footpath to the right around the side of the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
A helpful map showing bus routes and interchange points can be found here.
From Glasgow Queen Street rail station, the bus stop on Cathedral Street is served by Stagecoach X19 and First Glasgow 77:
From Glasgow Central rail station, the bus stops on Union Street and Jamaica Street are served by McGill’s 23 and 23A, and Stagecoach X19:
The nearest subway station to the QEUH campus is Govan. The Teaching and Learning Centre is about a 30 minute walk away (head west on Govan Road for 1 mile then turn left at the first hospital site entrance as shown with the purple dotted line on the large map above), or the street level bus stop outside of the station is served by McGill’s 21, 23 and 23A, and Stagecoach X19 [all dropping off at the Arrival Square], and by First Glasgow 90 [which travels through the hospital grounds and is the only bus route to drop off at the Teaching and Learning Centre].
Park and Ride is available at the Shields Road subway station, just off the M8. A return journey subway ticket, included in the Park and Ride price for all-day parking, can be used for transport to the Govan subway station, or the bus stop across Shields Road is served by First Glasgow 90 which drops off at the Teaching and Learning Centre.
Bike journeys to the QEUH campus can be planned with CycleStreets; there are bike racks at the Teaching and Learning Centre. Nextbike rental is available from locations including Glasgow Queen Street rail station (at George Square), Glasgow Central rail station (at Hope Street and Gordon Street) and Govan subway station (at Govan Cross on Water Row). Upon arrival at the QEUH campus, nextbike rentals can be returned at the Arrival Square.
