The Radiochemistry Department at Edinburgh Imaging QMRI facility are looking for a R&D Postdoctoral Scientist to work in close collaboration with researchers using PET imaging techniques to develop/manufacture new PET radiotracers (Fluorine-18 or Carbon-11) for pre-clinical research. The post is initially fixed-term for 2 years.
The selected candidate will be working with a team manufacturing clinical PET radiotracers and will be expected to develop the research and development (R&D) side of laboratory, while working in a dedicated R&D laboratory equipped with state of the art equipment. The research efforts will be focused on the development, synthesis and quality control (QC) of novel radiotracers, as well as, the setup of radiotracers described in the literature.
The selected candidate will be expected to collaborate with other scientists to develop new precursors and new radiolabelling strategies. The selected candidate may occasionally be expected to provide support to the team for the transfer and validation of new clinical PET radiotracers into GMP manufacture. In addition, the candidate will be encouraged to propose, plan and carryout his/her own related research.
