SINAPSE Image of the Month submissions for 2017 not only helped to publicise Scottish imaging research, but were eligible for an Image of the Year award prize of £80 as selected by judging panel.
We are delighted to announce the winner: Courtesy of Dr Michelle Williams and Prof David Newby, this striking image shows a three dimensional reconstruction of a computed tomography (CT) coronary angiogram performed as part of the SCOT-HEART trial:
Findings from the SCOT-HEART trial were published in The Lancet, leading to the clinical application of cardiac CT in chest pain and an update of the relevant NICE guidelines, and the study team from the University of Edinburgh and NHS Lothian was honoured as winner of ‘Imaging Team of the Year’ at The BMJ Awards 2017. Many congratulations!
