Dr Gordon Waiter from the University of Aberdeen and Dr David Dickie from the University of Edinburgh have been awarded International Exchange Grants by the Royal Society of Edinburgh (RSE) to visit the lab of Professor Wen-Yih Isaac Tseng at National Taiwan University in Taipei, Taiwan. The funding scheme is a partnership between RSE and the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST), Taiwan.
Dr Waiter and Dr Dickie’s visit to Taiwan will initiate an international research collaboration on diffusion MRI data analysis. Professor Tseng and colleagues have developed novel techniques for the analysis of white matter fibre connections in the brain, and in collaboration with SINAPSE centres the techniques will be introduced to Scottish imaging researchers and applied to Scottish ageing and birth cohort imaging data.
